Special advice

I had been suffering from faecal incontinence in the form of diarrhoea for a couple of months. We contacted a medical specialist shop, and they advised us to try the Absorin Level pad, developed for men. I can use it together with my normal underwear, and it is easy to change, even if I have to use the public toilet while out shopping with my friends.
Together with Jannie, the district nurse who has been visiting me each week since the death of my husband Klaas a year ago, we searched for a solution. I still go out often, nice walks in the park nearby or shopping with friends. We contacted a medical specialist shop, and they advised us to try the Absorin Level pad. This is a pad specially developed for men, so it has a broad part in the front. We were given the tip to turn the pad around, giving me more security at the back than a normal pad. I can use it together with my normal underwear, and it is easy to change, even if I have to use the public toilet while out shopping.

And then I found out that I was entitled to reimbursement from my healthcare insurer! Of course faecal incontinence is uncomfortable, and I would rather not experience it, but that’s just the way it is. And luckily I can still have fun with my friends!”
